It started with a conviction:
that online business owners deserved better. better strategy. better design. and a marketing approach that didn't require leaving your integrity at the door.

It was 2018. The online marketing world was dominated by ugly tactics,
inflated claims, and funnels that looked fine on paper but felt gross in practice.

Two women, a business strategist and a classically trained designer, decided to build something different. A platform where coaches, course creators, consultants, and freelancers could learn real marketing strategy, take courses built around what they actually need, build their funnels, and find a community that actually gives a damn.

That's Funnel Gorgeous. Education, software, and community built on the conviction that ethical marketing and outstanding design aren't extras. They're the whole point.

how funnel gorgeous started

TWO STRANGERS, ONE FACEBOOK COMMENT THREAD.

once upon a time in 2017...

Cathy Olson flew from California to Miami for a sales funnel conference and left more confused than when she arrived. Frustrated, she posted in a Facebook group asking for help. Someone tagged Julie. They spent the next hour going back and forth in the comments.

Cathy asked Julie, “What's an upsell? How do you price an order bump?
What does any of this actually mean?!”

(WHO TOTALLY KNEW
WHAT A FUNNEL WAS)

By the end of the text convo, Cathy said she'd learned more in that one hour commenting with Julie, than she had in three days at the in-person event.

So obviously, Cathy hired Julie.
Julie ran a sales funnel boot camp where she was the only student. Cathy’s first funnel (a $27 front-end offer) cleared $100,000.

in the spring of 2018...

Cathy came to Julie with a proposal: she was a classically trained designer, Julie was a strategist and copywriter, and the market was flooded with ugly funnels and unethical tactics. They saw a different path.

“ONE MILLION IN THE
FIRST YEAR? THAT’S A LOT OF CRICKETS!!”

on august 6, 2018...

Julie Chenell and Cathy Olson co-founded Funnel Gorgeous with a five-day launch that earned $55,000. In year one, the company crossed $1 million in sales. What started as a joint venture became a company, built on the conviction that design and marketing belong together, that your customers deserve both, and that you don't have to choose between doing well and doing right.

BUT WE DON’T ALWAYS GET ALONG.
THINGS WE CAN’T AGREE ON:

? Which coast is the best coast

? How many animals are TOO many animals

? Living in the City vs. living in the Country

? Disneyland vs. Disney World

(ANSWER KEY: OBVIOUSLY THE LEFT COAST IS THE BEST COAST. UNLIMITED IS NOT A NUMBER, IT’S A ZOO. SAN DIEGO IS THE BEST CITY IN THE WORLD.

OK, BOTH, IT’S LIKE CHOOSING A FAVORITE CHILD. AND YES THIS QUIZ IS RIGGED BECAUSE CATHY DESIgNED IT.)

what we believe

We're not interested in tactics that work until they don't.

Funnel Gorgeous was built on a different premise, that how you market is just as important as what you're selling. These are the beliefs that shape every course we build, every product we ship, and every customer interaction we have.

MARKETING is manipulation.

MARKETING is a service.

Every strategy we teach starts with the customer. If the only way to make a sale is to manufacture urgency or obscure the truth, that's not a strategy we'll teach. Good marketing serves real people with real needs. Full stop.

DESIGN is a luxury for later.

DESIGN quality is a conversion strategy.

Beautiful funnels are trust signals. When your brand looks polished, professional, and intentional, your audience pays attention and sticks around. Cathy has spent 26 years proving that design isn't an afterthought. Inside FG, it never is.

SUPPORT is a task you can farm out, or give to AI.

SUPPORT is how you earn loyalty.

Most platforms hand you the keys and disappear. We built our business on the opposite belief: that real humans deserve real answers, fast. Our biggest expense line is customer support. US-based, live chat, actual humans. We think that's exactly where the money should go.

GROW and scale as fast as possible.

GROW at a pace your customers can trust.

Growth that outpaces your ability to take care of people isn't growth. We've always prioritized a boutique experience over a vanity metric. Slow and steady doesn't make for a great headline. It does make for a great company.
